Thank You, Philadelphia!! |
|
Well, I didn't get elected to City Council. But I am proud to have had the opportunity to stand up on behalf of Philadelphians and to help keep the focus this election on your concerns. We ran a really great, low-budget, grassroots campaign, one I've been proud of. I'd like to thank my campaign manager and friend, Anne Dicker, for all her energy, smarts and efforts. Thanks to Simon Dicker as well for all his support. Thank you to everyone who supported the campaign and who helped to get the word out. We would never have made it so far, so fast without you!! Though I did not win the opportunity to serve you as a City Councilmember At-Large, I promise to keep working for Philadelphians to improve education and our quality of life here, to achieve a prosperous and positive future- one that brings jobs and economic well-being while supporting environmentally and socially responsible and sustainable goals. A future that encourages greater participation from residents in city government, and that reflects the diversity and concerns of the people who live here. |

As a mother of a school-aged daughter, Caryn is concerned about Philadelphia's children, and believes we must protect their future by investing in quality public education while also fostering stronger community ties. We must also give children real alternatives and role models through after school programs, stronger vocational opportunities, extended recreation center hours and reasons to invest in their own future. |
